A missing MacBook charger should be a simple replacement job. It often is - until you find a 30W USB-C plug, a 96W Apple adapter and several MagSafe cables that all look close enough. MacBook charger compatibility guide: start with the port
The fastest way to narrow down a replacement is to look at your MacBook’s charging connection. Apple has used three main approaches across its laptop range.
Older MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models use MagSafe 1 or MagSafe 2. These are magnetic connectors with a small indicator light and a dedicated charging port on the side of the laptop. MagSafe 1 and MagSafe 2 are not directly interchangeable because the connector shapes are different. A suitable Apple converter can adapt some MagSafe 1 power adapters to MagSafe 2, but it will not turn a MagSafe charger into a USB-C charger.

What matters is that it supports USB-C PD at an appropriate wattage, not simply that it has a USB-C-shaped port.
Be cautious with ultra-cheap unbranded chargers and cables. Poorly made accessories can deliver inconsistent power, overheat or fail early.
